3 jobs at one time, triple your earning potential.

Now at first this may seem like tedious and poorly paid work but a clever bit of ingenuity by you could transform it into a profitable way of working.
Deliver flyers.
Go round local shops and ask if they would like you to deliver flyers to the local area to help promote their company. Then when one says yes, find more who will pay you to do the same and you could increase how much you earn for doing the same job. And its a prettier simple job, bring an iPod or a friend to chat to or walk your dog and you could make a pleasant experience out of a menial task.

January has finished, time to think about summer jobs.

We all know its a recession and there are no jobs so how do you get past this initial barrier and get employment?
Start early, start now and apply for every job in site. Make sure you have a CV ready then apply online for any job you think might suit you, whether it be working for a catering company or on a summer camp there will be many options available to you and I recommend browsing the web for any openings. A lot of sites will ask you to submit a few forms and upload a CV and then your application gets processed and hopefully you hear back from the company in the future. Except you almost never do. My experience has taught me that hardly anyone will do more than acknowledge you application and to actually get employment you need to chase up your application by calling the company, preferably the HR or employment departments. Also from applying to many catering companies last year, I have found out that only this year do they get in touch about working for them by asking if I'm still interested in the work.
Once you have exhausted the list of online opportunities its time to take the traditional route of CV to a shop and asking to speak to the manager and hoping for the best. Be polite and courteous and your early application should put you in a good position to find something.

Happy hunting.

Extreme weather provides perfect conditions for a local entrepeneur

Having just finished snowing this year, I was one of the few people who was glad that as the snow melted it would turn to ice and make drive ways and entrances difficult to use because it offered the perfect reasoning for people to pay me to clear their paths and salt them. I had a bag of salt from the year before and I simply grabbed a brush and spade from my garage and set out around the local area offering to clear paths for £5. The work was simple, clear the bulk of the ice with the spade then brush what was left and lay some salt. 10 minutes work maximum on a path, 15 on a driveway so i was looking at £20 an hour at least. Slight manual labour but a few hours later and I'd made £100.

Earning potential:
Costs: Salt and spade or brush if don't have one.
Income:£20/hour minimum.

Tips:
Remind potential clients that allow the snow may seem harmless, once it turns to ice a path may become impassible.
Depending on your area or size or job you may be able to charge more.
Offer to re-salt paths in a few days for a few extra pounds.
Don't offer to clear gravel paths; it is a nightmare.

Welcome

Welcome to my new blog about how to make extra money along side your day job or studies or whilst at home. I will be testing and reviewing recommended methods of earning money so you know which ones work and which don't. I aim to post every few days so check back every so often for new tips as I build a database of earnings opportunities. If you have any experience or advice relating to any of the topics, I'd love to hear it as Im sure it will help anyone else, who like me, needs more money than they have now but don't have time for a full time job
